Nonveridical Spaces
When observing an enclosed space, I am always intrigued by the shapes produced by light sources and by the shadows they cast. By closing up on architectural elements and enhancing the relationships of light and shadow, I set out to create images that emphasize the geometric forms that caught my eye, while at the same time disconnecting the resulting image from the very space it portrays. The ability to correctly perceive actual tridimensional spatial relationships as reproduced on a bidimensional support is ultimately called into question.
